Long-Term Monitoring

Hypertension Care

Blood pressure logging, trend monitoring, risk alerts, medication adherence tracking, lifestyle guidance and doctor follow-up for long-term cardiovascular health.

Preliminary guidance only. Blood pressure readings logged here support self-monitoring. Do not adjust medication without consulting a licensed doctor. If your readings are very high (above 180/120 mmHg) or you have symptoms such as chest pain or severe headache, seek emergency care immediately.

Blood Pressure Categories

Understanding Your Reading

Blood pressure categories are a guide for understanding your readings. Your doctor will advise on treatment based on your full clinical picture.

Normal
Below 120/80 mmHg
Elevated
120–129 / below 80 mmHg
High (Stage 1)
130–139 / 80–89 mmHg
High (Stage 2)
140 or higher / 90 or higher
Hypertensive Urgency
Higher than 180/120 mmHg

Hypertensive Emergency

If your blood pressure reads above 180/120 mmHg — especially with symptoms such as chest pain, severe headache, blurred vision or difficulty breathing — seek emergency medical care immediately. Do not wait.

Lifestyle Support

Managing Hypertension Day to Day

Lifestyle changes can significantly reduce blood pressure alongside medication. These are evidence-based general guidance points — your doctor will create a personalised plan.

Reduce salt intake to less than 5 grams per day
Increase physical activity — aim for 30 minutes most days
Maintain a healthy weight
Limit alcohol consumption
Stop smoking — smoking significantly increases cardiovascular risk
Reduce stress through relaxation and sleep
Take prescribed medication consistently — never stop without medical advice
